The object that I’ve owned throughout my spirit and criss-crossed the land with, is a small electronic chess set. It works on two double A batteries and has eight distinct accomplishment levels. Naturally after many years the white pieces are a fleck yellowed and I’ve misplaced a bishop along the way, however for the most part and a change of electric batteries once in a while it has lasted with me since I was twelve years old.
The chess set has stayed in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Alaska and New York. It braved marriage and survived children. It stays patiently in a closet for me to take time for a game. Naturally I’ve never done it justice, only ever making to skill grade 5 and a lot of the time being decent at level 3 or four, simply it has been a regular friend. It’s difficult to think a chess set could be made in 1965 and run on until today, but it was and it is still present waiting to play!
